Week 6 (OAH)


Today we talked about ancient Rome.

Rome era: 500 BCE – 400 BCE

The Romans initially imitated the Greek art and later on evolved the style.

In the roman civilisation, human sculptures are made much more realistically.

The Roman empire was huge, which depicted domination and it was also the closest to nation building.

Rome used to mark its territories by building structures.

Rome was one of the cities that kept existing. Many cities lose their significance while capitals are built but rome didn’t lose its significance. It became an empire from a republic.

Constantinople was a very important place in the roman empire as it connected the European Continent to the West Asian Continent.
Romans followed christianity hence they destroyed rome and their classical structures and used the ruins to build churches.
Romans had discovered the earliest version of concrete and they used this material to make the Aqueducts rather than using stone as water would simply cut through the stone unlike cement.
