Week 1 (Imaging)


This class was all about revising Illustrator and Photoshop- the editing applications we learnt in the 1st semester.

It was a quick recap we did

  1. Tints – are when we mix white with other colours the colours it makes are called as tints.
  2. Shades – colours obtained after mixing black .
  3. Tones – colours obtained after mixing with greys.
  4. RGB- are additive colours. They are primary pigmented colours.
  5. CMYK- are subtractive colours.
  6. Adobe illustrator is a vector software
  7. Adobe photoshop is a raster software.
  8.  Flat colours are in 3 types- gradient, blends, mesh

We then learnt the types of blends :

  1. Colour blend:
  2. Gradient blend
  3. Shape blends
  4. Node blends
  5. Text blends
  6. Blends on custom paths
  7. Opacity blends

Post that we learnt how to make brushes on illustrator:

  • Scatter brush
  • Art brush
  • Pattern brush.

The session was a revision class and doubt solving session for Illustrator and Photoshop. Also using both the apps we had to make a movie poster.

I made the fonts in Illustrator and edited the picture as well as added the fog at the bottom using effects in Photoshop
