Ma’am started the class by talking about destructive and non-destructive tools. She gave us examples of destructive and non-destructive like erasers and clip masks. She then started with Layer Mask Tool which allows us to hide unwanted part of the image. It works with black & white colour or gradient with the help of black colour, you can hide unwanted part and with the help of white colour, you can reveal the hidden area. Layer Mask Tool is used for merging images.
2. Apply Layer Mask on upper most layer.
3. Use black to remove parts of images and white to reveal them. Keep the hardness 0% to get a much more realistic effect while using it.
Ma’am then told us how to use Gradient with Layer Mask. She taught us how to use Gradient tool with Layer Mask Tool to give a good effect to the picture.
2. Select the Gradient Tool (Black and White only or else the effect won’t work)
3. Choose the Layer Mask Tool and apply the Gradient to give a nice effect.
Ma’am then told us to make a poster using all the tools to make a movie poster.
