We started todays class by revising about everything we have done in Photoshop till now, we learnt about all the tools we’ve used till now and Ma’am also asked us questions to know if we understood or not. Ma’am also encouraged students to ask questions and get their doubts cleared. Ma’am then checked our blogs to see the posters and she selected a few students who had good posters. Later on Ma’am taught us a few shortcuts like pressing Alt key for using subtraction of selection, Shift key for addition of selection and Shift+Alt key for intersection of selection.
She told us that the eyedropper tool is used to copy a foreground colour and it could be used to apply the same colour to another selection.

To do so, we have to select an image and then crop it out(optional) and go to view and select New Guide and make Horizontal and Vertical Guides and then using the Single Row and Column Marque tool we trace it out and then we hide guides by pressing Ctrl+; and then we go to Select – Modify – Expand and expand these lines to 3 pixels and then we fill colour in them and we click Ctrl D to get out of the tool. To make a background we go to crop and increase the area and fill the background with a colour.

Ma’am then introduced us to Lasso Tool. Lasso Tool helps us to make a free hand selection. Polygonal Lasso Tool is a tool which helps us to make straight line selections, Using Lasso tool we can put select a selection from one picture and paste it in a new picture. We choose an image and using Polygonal Lasso Tool we trace out the picture and separate it from the rest of the picture by clicking Ctrl + Select + J. We choose another picture and simply copy paste the selection into the picture. To customise the colours in the picture according to the background go to Image – Adjustments – Hue/Saturation.

Using Lasso tool, I put a galaxy on a clear sky beach.
Using Lasso Tool, the Statue of Liberty is completely dark and has a galaxy background behind it.
