Today we learnt about Iconography. Iconography symbolises/implies something.
It is believed that in the afterlife the Egyptians used to weigh their heart with a feather and depending on the weight of their heart, they would be sent to the afterlife. The painting shows a pot instead of the heart which is an example of iconography as The Egyptian Era was symbolic.
On the other hand, Emblems are gestures that have a specific meaning.
In the United States, a thumbs-up can mean “I need a ride” or “OK!”.
Religions are filled with Iconographs. Different religions have different symbolisms of the same object.
