Week 8 (ES)

At first sir showed us some inspirational designs.

  • Kingfisher diving in water
  • Bullet train
Earlier the bullet train had a shape of a bullet so it always had a problem of being loud while travelling with speed and hence they got into detailed study of aerodynamic and hydrodynamics and realised that the kingfisher bird does not make a splash when entering into water with great speed and hence got inspired by the kingfisher and now the bullet train design is similar to the beak of a kingfisher.

We then had to show the 3 iconic products we had chosen and sir would help us in deciding which one of them should we choose to case study about. My 3 products were:

  • Nokia 3310
  • Game Boy
  • Levi’s Jeans

Sir suggested that I do a case study on Game Boy. We had to cover these questions in the case study:

  1. Why was the Product Iconic ?
  2. What situations/conditions inspired the product?
    • Aesthetics
    • Tech
    • Ergonomy
  3. Personal Reflection
  4. Revival
