  1. Typeface: refers to design (way it looks)
  2. Font: Typeface + Style + Sign

A font is what we use and a typeface is what we see.

Different typefaces: Serif, Sans Serif, Display (manipulate serif and sans serif), Script

Display Typeface is a modification made to an additional impact.

1. Serif:
Sleek, arm and leg embellishment (extentions)
Classic and Timeless (still being used)
Used in Luxury, Classic and Cosmetic brand.
Makes a communication look serious, traditional and authoritative.
TANISHQ, TITAN
2. Slab Serif: (different than Serif due to its thickness)
Bold arm and leg embellishment 
Bold, Classic and Masculine
Used in Male Cosmetics, Titles, Quotes, Old movie posters, Signage on Trucks.
Used to make a word bold and old.
VOLVO
3. Sans Serif:
No arm and leg extensions 
Clean, Bold and Complementary
Makes communication look contemporary and timeless.
Used widely for headlines, signages, logos etc.
LEGO, CHANEL, FEDEX, STARBUCKS
4. Display:
No particular characteristic 
Decorative and Creative
Communication in small doses.
Creative Typeface- no peculiar characteristic- can be a modification of all kinds of typefaces
5. Script:
Cursive, Handwritten
Personal and Classic
Used to add on personal or classy touch in a communication 
Resembles handwritten style- can be used for baselines and various kinds of communication
KELLOGS, CADBURY, BARBIE, FORD, COCA COLA
