We completed the book Metamorphosis and had a discussion on the themes and metaphors of the chapter.

Isolated(self) (He isolated himself from the others because of what had happen to him when he became a bug)

Alienated(others) (As he became a bug, his family started alienating him, staying away from him. His boss ran away when he saw Gregor. People started avoiding him and were scared of him.)
